WEEZER – BLUE ALBUM

May 2019 marks the 25th anniversary of The Blue Album from the band Weezer. I wanted to pay homage to my favorite band by creating a piece that celebrates the album's milestone while also being full of nostalgia from the band's career. 

Created using After Effects, Cinema 4D and Maya.

This project was created for educational purposes, all music and inspiration credit to Weezer.

INSPIRATION

I wanted to capture the essence of the music video "Undone - The Sweater Song" while utilizing elements of the band. The audio in my project is also from this song.

NOSTALGIC PIECES REFERENCED

Some of the pieces referenced in the piece are the lead singer's Ray Bans glasses, lightning bolt guitar strap and stratocaster guitar, the drummer's early drum kit, an amp from the band and the band's logo.

STYLEFRAMES

These styleframes represent my interpretation of the music, the band and their history. I chose to use only blue, white and black to stay true to the album but also as a vehicle for transitions throughout the piece.
